Terms of service
The terms that apply to this website and to services requested through it. Draft for review — the practice has not yet supplied final legal copy.
These terms
These terms apply to the use of this website and to interpreting and translation services requested through it. Requesting a service means accepting them.
Quotes and confirmation
A request is not a booking. Rates, duration, and any travel charges are confirmed in writing before an assignment is scheduled, and work begins once that quote is approved.
Minimums
A two-hour minimum applies to on-site interpreting and a one-hour minimum to remote interpreting. Time beyond the confirmed schedule is billed separately and is subject to interpreter availability.
Cancellation
Cancellation terms are stated in the confirmation for each assignment. Late cancellations may be billed at the confirmed minimum where an interpreter has already been committed.
Travel and expenses
Mileage and applicable travel charges are billed separately for on-site services unless different terms have been confirmed in writing.
Your responsibilities
Tell us the setting, the language pair, and anything the interpreter needs to know for access. Inaccurate details may make an assignment impossible to fill.
Accuracy and scope
Translations are prepared for the intended use stated in the request. A translation prepared for one purpose may not be accepted for another.
Certification
Certified translations carry a signed certificate of accuracy. Whether a receiving authority accepts it is that authority’s decision, not ours.
Confidentiality
Assignment details and documents are handled confidentially and used only to deliver the requested service.
Intellectual property
You retain rights in the documents you send. Site content, marks, and copy remain the property of the practice.
Limitation of liability
Liability for any assignment is limited to the fee paid for that assignment, to the extent the law allows.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Changes
These terms may change. The version in force is the one published on this page at the time of your request.
